Isle of Wight brothers Michael and David Champion, aka CHAMPS, are currently heading towards their third studio album following reasonably success in preceding records over the last three years. Like all music aggregators, our net isn’t always wide enough to catch every bit of new music and so, today CHAMPS make their first appearance on TMR with the flawless new single ‘Red Star’. The wondrous vocal harmonies permeate throughout the richly produced track, led by an intricate acoustic guitar melody. It’s romantic and solemn all in one go, very much reflecting a tale of “waiting for the return of an absent loved one” as CHAMPS say, “It’s about longing, patience and devotion through trying circumstances.” Our personal discovery of this incredibly talented duo comes just ahead of The Hard Interchange LP release, which you can catch on the 27th of September. - Hannah Thacker
